16 out of 30 senators voted against former justice minister Bernard Gousse on Tuesday August 02, 2011. After a stormy debate the other senators refused to take part in the vote. Haiti’s Senate has blocked the President Michel Martelly's nomination for prime minister for the second time since May 2011 election. The country remains in the hands of the outgoing government.
Instead of continuing to do the public's work, President Michel Martelly must proceed in finding yet another candidate for the premier’s job. It seems like the former Haiti President Rene Preval's Unite government doesn't want to give current President Martelly any chance to make policy changes for the country. They want things to remain the same.
