July 14, 2001: A Coast Guard cutter spot a suspected smuggling boat traveling between the Dutch side of St. Martin and St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. After being spotted, most of the boat's occupants moved toward the stern of the boat causing the boat to capsize. Rescuers pulled 20 people unto their boat, including one man and an infant who were not breathing. The man later died. Survivors -- including 11 Colombians, four Haitians, two Mexicans, and three U.S. citizens -- said up to four others were still missing, including a 7-year-old boy.
