La Visite National Park is one of the most popular natural reserves and is situated 22 kilometers to the south-southeast of Port-au-Prince. This National park was founded by governmental decree in the year 1983. This park is one of the remaining three National parks in Haiti that is a must visit sites for the tourists. La Visite National Park streches across a total area of 2,000 hectares on the ridge of the Massif de la Selle near its western terminus. The park has a maximum elevation of 2,282 mon Morne Cabaio. The La Visite National Park is indeed one of the most sought after spots of sightseeing in the country. The natural forests of the La Visite National Park are presently restricted to the regions of high altitude. Pine or Pinus occidentalis dominates the vegetation in this popular reserve.
