According to WCTV.tv, about 38k kids under the age of 5 die of malnutrition each year in Haiti. We spoke to the students two weeks ago as they were stocking up on medicine and prenatal vitamins for their trip. The students say they were able to help dozens of mothers and children with supplies and health information. They now plan on getting different departments from Tallahassee schools involved to help as well. "A lot of research that's already been done has proved if you just give the care, health will rise and not only help, but hope," said Jorge Pedraza, Rotaract of Tallahassee Founder. The group was caught in a hurricane during its trip to Haiti, so members say they also want to help improve the country's infrastructure.
