I remember a Sunday afternoon wouldn't be complete without a good old game of basketball with the guys. I remember there was a dude who rarely smile but was cool and always ready for a challenge. That dude was Sergo. He loved dribbling the ball behind the back and most of the time attended the games with Mc Donald. We only knew each other on the basketball court even when it felt as we were family. Rest in peace Sergo.
A delegation made up of 17 South Florida politicians and support staff has returned to Miami after spending three days in Haiti. The delegation, organized by City of North Miami Councilman Jacques Despinosse, went to Haiti on a goodwill mission and returned with ideas on how to help Haitians. "Right now everything is calm. That's what you hear from the government, the chamber of commerce and even from the U.S. Ambassador to Haiti," said Despinosse, at Miami International Airport Sunday night. "So now they're focusing on education, education, education.
Police have arrested a third suspect in the gang rape of an immigrant mother from Haiti in West Palm Beach, Florida. Police arrested the suspect late Thursday morning, who, like the other two arrested, is also a teenager. Police have yet to release the name of the 15-year-old, however. Police are still searching for as many as seven other suspects who police allege gang raped the West Palm Beach woman and then forced her son to engage in oral sex with her. Meanwhile, state attorney prosecutors are working to ensure the two teens arrested earlier face adult sentences, if convicted.
