With emotions and anger running high, Haitians affected by the fast spreading cholera outbreak are pointing the finger at the UN and asking them to leave the country. According to Radio New Zealand, as of 5 am today "The United Nations has shut down relief operations in northern Haiti because of demonstrations by protestors blaming its personnel for bringing cholera into the country."

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti — The United Nations mission in Haiti says one of its peacekeepers and a civilian woman have been shot by robbers outside a bank in the capital. U.N. police spokesman Jean-Francois Vezina says three gunmen approached on motorcycles and shot the off-duty Yemeni soldier as he left a Sogebank branch Thursday morning.

The United Nations decorated the Chilean peacekeeping force in Haiti with the "Medal Parade," the Chilean Army said in a statement on Monday. Chilean soldiers of the Battalion Chile 12th were awarded the medals in a ceremony held in Cabo Haitiano city, north of Haiti, the statement said.
